'Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." - Marilyn Monroe
After looking through some Marilyn Monroe quotes, she has officially joined the ranks of Martin Luther King Jr. and Simon Cowell in my list of role models. She was blonde but not stupid, and famous but not (excessively) shallow. In a way, I find her who-really-gives-a-damn attitude to be inspiring, as I generally tend to overthink what others think of me a lot, a habit I'm trying to break out of, just like I'm trying to break out of biting my fingernails (still not much progress on either one).
I seriously think the woman has a point. Think of it this way- would you rather to go through life unnoticed, uncared about, with absolutely no one knowing who you are, not making an impact on anybody? Or would you rather be seen, regardless of what other people say or think or see you as? Now don't get me wrong- there are some honestly terrible ways to be seen. But there are also some honestly terrible ways to be not seen as well. At the end of the day, the person who was different from everybody else is the person who is noticed. So it's a shame that in our day having even the slightest variation from the crowd condemns you, in a way.
